What ! Is the X Factor UK going to get cancelled next year ?

The Daily Star is reporting that the X Factor may be getting axed to make way for a new tv show soon , but will they actually go ahead with it ?

Yeah! thats right the X Factor UK , the show which has been captivating Great Britain and Ireland now for almost a decade and produced stars like Leona Lewis , Cher Llyod and Shayne Ward along with boy band One Direction and JLS may have reached the end of that cliff where all reality tv shows find themselves some day (sadly no one knows what happens to its stars afterwards) .

An insider claims that ITV is openly looking for a new show which can rival The Voice and replace X Factor to show on weekend nights . Its been known Simon Cowell has thought of ditching the show after poor ratings last year saw it lose its top spot . Simon cited that it "Lacked Spark" .

Elaine Bedell the ITV entertainment boss admitted the channel were "hungry for a big prime time weekend event show" but admitted they werent easy to discover.

"The ideas need to have the production value of The X Factor, Britain's Got Talent and I'm A Celebrity and they need a major piece of talent. We get very few pitches for big event shows. They're risky to commission."

Although ITV seem hesitant to axe the X Factor just yet its hard to picture them being able to keep another reality show going without X Factor being cancelled . Well for now the rumours seem to point out we are still going to have a season this year ,so yes, get ready for another super exciting X Factor season , oh and dont forget ITV , people will always have the X FACTOFR !

What do you guys think should ITV keep the X Factor or is it getting too old for modern Telivison ?

Warners wanted Leonardo DiCaprio to be in The Dark Knight Rises

With just weeks left to go until the final chapter in "Christopher Nolans" hugely succesful Batman Reboot, "EMPIRE" is reporting that "Warner Bros" wanted "Leonardo DiCaprio" to star in the final film as "The Ridler" .

The villains menacing Gotham city this time round are going to be psychopath Bane (Tom Hardy) and the Charismatic , Cat Woman (Anne Hathaway) . The characters look like they will be big hits and the film appears to be brillant and well action packed . However had it been that Warner Bros got there way like they originally planned a few years back , it could have been a film of confusing Riddles and Deadly traps for Bruce Wayne to protect Gotham City from with Leonardo DiCaprio playing the deadly antagonist .

According to "David Goyer" it was The Riddler that Warner Bros wanted back in 2008 with Leonardo on board to play the man of far to many words .

EMPIRE

"Obviously it's gonna be The Riddler, and we want it to be Leonardo DiCaprio."

The Dark Knight rises hits theatres July 20th . Trailer below .

Ridley Scotts "Prometheus" gives stong European opening

Prometheus to open strong in Europe

Pre - sales for "Ridley Scotts" Alien Prequel "Prometheus" could break records all over Europe , with the second highest Movie opening in France of 2012 .

Prometheus opened early in France yesterday and it has taken the country's Box Office by storm pulling in a impressive $1.5 million in its first day (87 percent higher than The Hunger Games) , which puts it second in that category in France behind The Avengers .

However its amazing start in Europe doesnt end there , in the U.K where the Movie opens on Friday the film managed to suck in $1.6 million in pre ticket sales , that included $810,000 at Londons Imax Southbank Theatre (the highest ever recorded at the Southbank).

Sweeden and Denmark are also reporting pre sales to be booming . At the rate the movie is selling tickets it could surpass "Avatar" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" in pre ticket sales , breaking that EU Box Office record  .

Prometheus which stars Naoimi Rapace , Michael Fassbender and Charlise Theron hits US theatres on June 8th and will see Ridley Scott return to the "Alien Franchise" and Sci Fi Genre that sent him to fame 3 decades ago .

Will you see Prometheus ? Trailer Below .

Prometheus is it worth the hype - early reviews are in -

Early reviews for Ridley Scotts "Prometheus" the highly anticipated prequel to 1979's "Alien" are starting to pore in , is it worth the cinema trip ?

The movie which stars Naoimi Rapace (the girl with the dragon tatoo) , Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds) and Charlize Theron (the Italian job and Hancock) is believed to be a direct prequel to Alien the 1979 Box Office sensation which changed the Sci-Fi and Horror genre for ever . The Question though reamins will it be as big a hit in 2012  with a already over done franchise and an aging audience .

My guess , yes it will do very well and will probably be one of the summers biggest hits , the fact its a prequel to the original and not a sequel means its going to attract lots of fans who are looking for answers and it looks so good (at least visually from the trailers and cast) its going to have no problem attracting a new audience . Enough though let the critics be heared !

The Hollywood Reporter's Todd McCarthy -

"Ridley Scott's third venture into science-fiction, after Alien in 1979 and Blade Runner in 1982, won't become a genre benchmark like those classics despite its equivalent seriousness and ambition , But it does supply enough visual spectacle, tense action and sticky, slithery monster attacks to hit the spot with thrill-seeking audiences worldwide."

Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian -

"It is a muddled, intricate, spectacular film, but more or less in control of all its craziness and very watchable, There are also some shrewd and witty touches, and one terrifically creepy performance by Michael Fassbender ."

Mark Adams of Screen Daily -

"While Prometheus has some striking chilling moments it never plays the all-out horror card, instead developing the science alongside the action and punctuating the film with moments that jolt and amaze, Prometheus should thrill, challenge and provoke audiences ready for (this) signature brand of intelligent and visceral film-making."

Judging by these reviews id give it 4 stars before even seeing it !

What do you guys think ?

MAD MEN Season 5 episode 11 - The Other Woman - full of surprises

Last night saw the UK and Ireland Premiere of AMC's latest episode of MAD MEN "the other woman". Being honest this is my favourite episode of the hit series so far this season .

To say the episode was extremely character driven would be a huge understatement (WARNING SPOILERS FROM HERE), For fans of everyones favourite sexy office worker "Joan Harris" they finally got to see why on earth this amazing well brought up and strong minded woman has been kept behind closed doors the past two months , im sure most are overjoyed and shocked to find out .

Since last weeks episode a lot has changed in the way the agency are thinking , at the end of last weeks episode we had a very confident Don Draper telling the staff that they would make the pitch for JAGUAR and that they would win it . Fast foward past Christmas , New Year and wake up to 1967 , we see all that confidence the Agency had about bagging its first car has now been destroyed , the staff are overworked and things are getting ugly .

When Pete sees that the prospects of succeeding are getting slimer what does he do ? Why he asks Joan to essentially sell herself to a Jaguar rep , who has the hots for her . Joans inital reaction is one of disgust , and the fact she is offered money makes her feel worse , with a divorce around the corner a baby at home and her life falling apart the idea of being used as a prostitute by the closest thing she has to family leaves her shocked . Oh but Pete doesnt care. "I hope I havent insulted you. Thats all that matters to me" (spoken with a smirk on his face).

As though asking her wasnt bad , he then calls a meeting with all the executives , unsure they dont know wether to back Pete or punch him (this is Joan Harris !), Don who has always respected Joan , so much so he didnt sleep with her last week walks out in anger , Robert just says "hes not paying for it" (so much for last week) Lane tells her to ask for partership in the company if she does decide to go ahead and Mr Cooper .. "let her know she can say no" .

Anyhow Joan makes a decision over the offer and agrees with Lane , she gets the parternship in the company ensuring a good income for her and her baby (Rogers Baby) . Its easy to say this probably saved the company financially but how will it affect characters relationships , with Joan so high up the food chain , wait sorry its 1967 (a woman so far up the food chain). Joan now so powerful , the dominante female entity in the company for the best part of the decade is left struggleing to be even heard , this of course is Peggy who is left out of the Jaguar pitch and feels completely replaced by Ginsberg .

Left feeling outcasted she reminds us of her value by single handedly saving the Jaguar deal over the phone . When its announced that Ginsberg may be flying to Paris taking credit for her own pitch , Peggy gets upset and Don under severe presure throws dollar bills at Pegi shouting "You wanna go to Paris ? Here you go" . However its not the trip to Paris Peggy wanted , but the account.

This is the last piece of crap Peggy is going to take and immediately accepts a offer from a rival Advertising Agency and hands in her resignation , all this just as the firm learns they won the Jaguar Deal (thank you Joan) . Don left dazed finds it hard to believe the woman he has brought from secretary to succesful copywriter is leaving but accepts her decision as a friend . Before leaving Peggy says "dont be a stranger" .

Peggy now realising she has done it , shes gone , walks past the celebration and heads to her small office grabs her things and walks towards the elevator , before walking out the glass doors , Joan catches her walking off from the corner of her eye and smirks in a (so long won't miss you way) . Did joan realise she was leaving ? If so this shows us Joan is deffinetly happy with her decision , she is now the most powerful woman at the agency and with the threat of Peggy challenging her gone , and Megan no longer attched to Don at the hip , she feels accomplished , succesful and most importantly that she now is seeing her life change for the better .

The episode ends with Peggy walking into the elevator looking confident and pleased . What did you guys think of the episode it sure did change the way in which the woman of Mad Men are looked down on and definetly has created a stirup at the firm , but most importantly we bid farewell to Pegi Olsen but was that the correct decision on her behalf ?

BOX OFFICE : Hunger Games laughs at The Three Stooges

So Far this weekend The Hunger Games is managing to hold its competion back with 6.5 Million Dollar gross on friday and is expected to gross around 20 Million Dollars for Lionsgate by the end of sunday , meaning it will stay at the number one spot for its fourth consecutivre week  .

The Three Stooges (20th Century FOX)

The three stooges managed a respectable 5.6 Million Dollars gross for 20th century Fox and The Cabin in the Woods grossed 5.5 million Dollars for Lionsgate also .

A well educated guess would be that The Three Stooges will probably remain second ahead of The Cabin in the Woods with a estimate of 18.5 Million as it is a family comedy , The Cabin in the Woods with its R rating will be looking at a audience of young adults and Teens but still managing to stay just behind in third place with just under 15 million .

However i am going to make a big guess and say that The Cabin in the Woods could be loking at number two spot if word gets around fast enough and if it doesn't i can say this movie will do very well next weekend as its story is very intresting and a refreshing change for teens from the usual slasher flick and ghost movie .

Will the Hunger Games drop next week , this monster of the BOX OFFICE is just unstoppable.
