BOX OFFICE : Hunger Games laughs at The Three Stooges

So Far this weekend The Hunger Games is managing to hold its competion back with 6.5 Million Dollar gross on friday and is expected to gross around 20 Million Dollars for Lionsgate by the end of sunday , meaning it will stay at the number one spot for its fourth consecutivre week  .

The three stooges managed a respectable 5.6 Million Dollars gross for 20th century Fox and The Cabin in the Woods grossed 5.5 million Dollars for Lionsgate also .

A well educated guess would be that The Three Stooges will probably remain second ahead of The Cabin in the Woods with a estimate of 18.5 Million as it is a family comedy , The Cabin in the Woods with its R rating will be looking at a audience of young adults and Teens but still managing to stay just behind in third place with just under 15 million .

However i am going to make a big guess and say that The Cabin in the Woods could be loking at number two spot if word gets around fast enough and if it doesn't i can say this movie will do very well next weekend as its story is very intresting and a refreshing change for teens from the usual slasher flick and ghost movie .

Will the Hunger Games drop next week , this monster of the BOX OFFICE is just unstoppable.

JK Rowling says she is working on new (encyclopedia) Potter book

JK Rowling has confirmed that she is working on a new Harry Potter book , but those hanging onto hope of a new novel will have to settle for a Encyclopedia about all the Harry Potter universe and characters .

Mrs. Rowling has been talking about creating a book which goes into very fine detail on the Potter world for some time and it appears she has now begun work on the book . Mrs. Rowling will be donating all profits from the book to charity (if only every celebrity could) and confirmed all this on her Official Website .

"For a long time I have been promising an encyclopaedia of Harry's world , and I have started work on this now some of it forms the new content in Pottermore".

"It is likely to be a time-consuming job , but when finished I shall donate all royalties to charity."

Mrs. Rowling also updated information on the chances of a new Harry Potter book which would be the eight in the series, writing on her Web Page , "I think it would be foolish to rule out something I might want to do in a few years' time.

"However, I have no immediate plans to write another Harry Potter novelv, and I do think that I have rounded off Harry's story in the seven published books."

Rowling unveiled the title of her new (and first adult targeting) novel "The Casual Vacancy" this week which is due in book stores and available to download September 27th 2012 . It is already believed to have a great chance at being the years biggest seller .

The Cabin in the Woods to reinvent the Horror Franchise ?

Horror has a rule , and that rule is every decade the Horror Franchise changes to cater for a new generation , the 1990s had "Scream" , the 2000s had "Saw" and it looks like the 2010s are going to have "The Cabin in the Woods" as its game changer .

The movie follows the ususal story to start, a group of horny teenagers , consisting of a sexy blonde chick , her jock boyfriend , the not as hot , yet still hotter than most girls best friend , a geek and a african american who typically gets axed to death (racist much) , who go on a camping trip to a cabin in the woods (you get that easily from the name) , where you presume they are going to get gutted  by a psycho serial killer , torn apart by canibal cavemen or more recently suffer from a parasitic alien slug that attaches to your brain and makes you kill everyone .

This movie though is different , straight away you know its unusual as the teens are being spyed on and watched by scientists who are controlling everything happening in the cabin and woods from underground.

Im not going to give out any spoilers but it is a monster flick and with a 92% score on rotten tomatoes its got to be entertaining , The Cabin in the Woods hits cinemas tomorrow April 13th , will it boost the struggling horror genre which is overly dependant on Ghost and Demon movies , or will it flop like Scream 4 did last year which was supposed to redefine the genre like its original did back in 1996 .

Where is The Simpsons Springfield , Matt Groening spills all

After 23 years of entertaining millions of familys and fans worldwide , the location of "Springfield", home to Americas favourite family "The Simpsons" has been revealed by the shows Creator Matt Groening .

After 23 years of secrecy , the simpsons creator Matt Groening has finally broken his silence on where the Simpsons home town Springfield is actually located .

Mr. Groening unveiled the answer to the 23 year long secret to fans in an interview with "Smithsonian Magazine" for their May issue . So where where is the town located ? The answer is Springfield , Oregon , not far from Matt Groenings childhood town of Portland .

Mr. Groening goes into more detail explaining that he chose Springfield because it was one of Americas most common place names and because he was a fan of the the hit 1950s show "Frank Knows best" , which also used the place name Springfield . Mr. Groening believed he would get viewers arguing over where Springfield was .

"I also figured out that Springfield was one of the most common names for a city in the US" .
"In anticipation of the success of the show , I thought , this will be cool , everyone will think its their springfield ". "And they do".

The Simpsons have enjoyed huge success for ove rtwo decades now on the small and big screen , winning 27 Emmy Awards and getting their own star on the "Hollywood Walk of Fame" . The show even manged to create a new word (D'OH) a word Homer is famous for uttering was added to the 2011 edition of the Oxford English Dictionary .

Ellen parodies Titanic nude scene upon 3D release

"Ellen" has decided to add the Blockbuster "Titanic" to the list of things she has had the chance to experience on the show , following the release of titanic in 3D .

The parody , or as Ellen puts it , the un-cut version of the film featuring her as a master of stick drawings , along side Leonardo Dicaprio and a nude Kate Winslet (guys you know the scene) who is left stunned at Mrs.Winslets body . If you don't fancy watching Titanic in 3D , trust me this is as good if not better (James Cameron cant make this sort of cinematic gold ) .

Carly Rae Jepsen lands UK number one with Call Me Maybe

Canada's 26 year old 2007 pop idol finalist  , Carly Rae Jepsen has bagged her first ever number one single in the UK with "Call Me Maybe" , already the fastest selling single in the UK so far this year , with sales of over 100,000 .

Carly a Canadian pop idol finalist who became a Protègè of Justin Bieber last November when he was home in Canada and heard her single playing and tweeted it to his mass of fans even going as far as to introduce Carly to his Manager . Even Selena Gomez , Justins girlfriend made parodys of the song which she put on You Tube .

Yes its fair to say Carly Rae Jepsen owes her international success to Justin and expect her to hang around for a while with Justin Bieber and  Selena Gomez on her side .

Rihanna says acting debut was Scary

"Rihanna" has sold 50 million singles worldwide , 8 million albums , performed for dozens of cities around the globe and made plenty of music videos , however it turns out her first on screen acting appearance scared her (more below) .

Rihanna gears up for war in Battleship .

The R&B marvel who has won numerous music awards , said that in the weeks leading up to the filming of Battleship , she was "nervous" and that when the filming begun she only got worse . She said in a interview with SKY she was "blown away" and that "it was huge with so many people and cameras".

"You get really nervous , it was scary , its a world I have never been a part of ".

Rihanna is comparing her move from music to acting to the late "Whitney Houston" who she says is her "inspiration" , Rihanna has also stated that she would be intrested in playing Mrs Houston in a movie about her troubled , yet glamourous life . 

However fans of Rihanna's music need not worry as she will not be giving singing up , saying she loves it to much . Battleship also stars Liam Neeson and Alexander Skarsgard , it hits cinemas april 11th .

BOX OFFICE : The Hunger Games fends off American Reunion and Titanic 3D

The US Box Office has been seeing a war the past couple of days , this war is the battle for top place between The massively popular The Hunger Games , American Reunion and Titanic 3D , but only one can be big enough to take the top place .

                                                                        

After days at battle it appears The Hunger Games comes out victorious this weekend (33.5 million) , taking the top spot for the 3rd weekend in a row . American Reunion has had a relatively good opening (21.5 million) although compared to the original pie trilogy all those years back it is slightly disappointing and didn't get close to beating The Hunger Games .

"James Camerons" mega Box Office smash of the 90s Titanic , grossed (17.35 million) , proving it still has worth over a decade later , managing a 3rd place position with 3D ticket sales for the movie also available . Its not yet clear wether the 3D sales are bringing the most cash but i presume that is what is happening . 

With The Hunger Games going to beat the Twilight saga's biggest box office gross of 300 million for new moon it appears that we are looking at the next BIG THING for teens and with Twilight wrapping up later this year and two hunger game sequels planned be prepared to be bomarded with this new franchise alot in the near future .  Ive included a summary of the US Box Office below .

Battle of nostalgia American Reunion and Titanic 3D which will be Top

With American Reunion the latest movie in the hit American Pie franchise and the worlds most loved movie Titanic hitting cinemas in 3D this weekend , which film will be the life of the party and which film will sink , (sorry for the pun ) its  90s nostalgia weekend at the box office .

American reunion , the fourth addition to the American Pie franchise , if you dont count those horrific DVD films , will probably see every teenager of the 90s and early 00s hit cinemas to see how the icons of their generations comedy have turned out . (of course it will attract plenty of modern youth too) .

The film follows Jim ("Jason Biggs") and his high school class of 1999 (now in there 30s) and how they have turned out in life now that they have grown up and settled down , well these party animals will never grow up , thats just what makes them such great fun to watch .

                                                                  

Titanic 3D , the worlds most critically acclaimed movie returns to cinemas just in time for the 100th anniversary of ships sinking in 3D . "James Cameron(s)" masterpiece has already astonished aundiences worldwide , the question is will they return to see the film in 3D (you've got to be honest its impossible to think of any person over the age of 12 who hasnt seen the film yet) . Either way im sure it will still draw an audience , purely for nostalgic reasons just like American Reunion .

The film follows Rose ("Kate Winslet") and Jack ("Leonardo Dicaprio") , two 20th century young adults , from completly differnt social backgrounds who fall in love on board the doomed Liner on their way from Britain to the New York . The movie is a masterpiece and if you really haven't seen it yet here's your chance and if you have already why not go again , Heck why not go see both films.

There truly will be a war this weekend and next between which 90s film ressurection will rule the box office again .

New Total Recall trailer hits the net

The new trailer for the remake of the 1980s hit sci fi classic of the same name , "Total Recall" , has arrived on the web and man does it look awesome .

The remake shows us straight away how the film is going to be differn't to the original , for those hoping we will get a mars setting (sorry its gone) , so is the large population of mutants and most impotantly of all , gone is "Arnold Schwarznegger" (sorry folks this time "he wont be back") .

In place of all this we get a much more modern , sexier and visually impressive movie , set somewhere in earths near future .
"Colin Farell"  is replacing Arnie as Douglas Quaid  , the secret agent who suffers from severe memory loss when he goes to Rekal Industries for a virtual holiday which in you can become anyone you want . Like in the original Mr. Farell makes the mistake of choosing to be a secret agent and things get messy from there onwards .

Many things remain similar to the original right down to the Rekal machine Farell sits in (although it has a more modern edge to it) . Another scene fans may recognise is the one in which Farell's character Douglas is concealing himself as another person to stay under cover using a false face , of course this scene to is alot more visually impressive than in the original movie .

The movie also stars super hot "Kate Beckinsale" (Pearl Harbour and Underworld)  the real life wife of Total Recall's Director , "Len Wisemen" , who plays a sexy villain assasin gunning down Mr.Farell in style .

To add to the cool things in the movie we see zero gravity gun battles and flying futuristic sports cars .

Russell Brand gives Katy Perry full ownership of his $6.5 million Home

Russell Brand has agreed to hand over full ownership of the marital home he bought with ex wife Katy Perry last year for $6.5 million .

Yes a $6.5 million home with 7 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms according to TMZ (wouldn't mind that house), not a bad price though for a celebrity trying to get his bachelor life back is it ? 

Mr. Brand (British actor and comedian) married Perry in October 2010 and the pair filed for a divorce just 14 months later , however he would not accept the $20 million which he was offered under California State law (he was entitled to half of everything Perry earned in the 14 months they were together) . 

It seems that the former couple are finally beginning to put aside their differences and move on , Brand by giving away a Hollywood mansion worth almost 7 million dollars and Perry by singing her heart out in her new music video in which she shows joining the army and getting killed is a good alternative to being let down in a relationship (wow she's not over him) , no insult intended to Military Personal .

Ashton Kutcher to play Steve Jobs in movie about Jobs life

Ashton Kutcher (Two and a Half Men) has been confirmed to be playing the late Apple boss Steve Jobs in a bio pic about Jobs life .

I must admit Mr.Kutcher has been quite disappointing in his acting since replacing "Charlie Sheen" in "Two and a Half Men" , however , I will be honest and say he does a better job acting in feature films such as "What happens in Vegas" , which i first watched on a EU flight from Ireland to Fuerteventura and laughed my self to death , since i hate flying he must have been good right ?

Mr.Kutcher (34) has over 10 million followers on twitter and is also known for his work on that 70s show and his his marriage to his now ex Demi Moore , he will play Jobs from his hippie lifestyle in the 1970s to his rise to wealth and fame as one of the worlds greatest entrepreneur . Steve Jobs died in October last year after a long fight with cancer .
