James Cameron and Kate Winslet attend the London premiere of Titanic in 3d .

Almost 100 years after the doomed Liner sank in the atlantic , James Cameron has once again released Titanic in cinemas and theatres worldwide except this time in 3d .

Cameron managed to take a break from his trip out at sea (where he is rumoured to be filming for Avatar 2 and 3) , to be in London at the 3D premire of his classic movie Titanic which is once again setting sail for our cinemas worldwide on April 5th to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the R.M.S Titanic on its mayden voyage .

Cameron was quoted saying ,

"It's really a dream come true to get this film back into cinema because it just has a whole different effect on people when they take three hours out of their life to just sit and have the unbroken experience and let the story take them along," Cameron said. "It can be quite a profoundly emotional experience, and you're not going to get that watching it on video. The 3-D just enhances the whole thing. It takes it to a whole different level. "

Having spent almost a decade converting one of the worlds most loved movies into 3D  (Mr Cameron is making the 3D version of the movie since 2005) he spoke of how he believed all movie classics could possibly become 3D recreations in our modern cinemas .

"I was pretty convinced at that time that 3-D was really going to transform the cinema experience. I wanted cinema owners, the exhibitors, to embrace the conversion to digital projection, so that there'd be a place to show 3-D movies," Cameron said. "I was thinking of 'Avatar,' but I was also saying, 'Look, we can do films like "Titanic." We can take "Jaws," "Star Wars," whatever your favorite movies are, we can convert them to 3-D and give them a whole new life.'

Titanic 3D hits cinemas april 4th , it should be intresting to see what it turns out like .
